As some of you may know, this year we are moving out of London (for various reasons) and need to get our house on the market. DH has been (shall we say) less than helpful getting the house up together ready to sell. So after I got home from work yesterday and this morning, I put the numbers on the front door, repaired the outside light, replaced several bulbs, stained a wooden mirror frame and hung it, hung 3 pictures, and painted the cloakroom walls and ceiling. Just a handful of the things on my "to do" list, but its a start.

Right tea made.

I have a buyer for our house. DH doesn't know yet, but a friend of ours has sold her flat and is living with her partner's mother (along with partner,dd and 3 week old ds) they are looking for a 3 bed house in our area. She has been involved the last couple of weeks with all the work I've lined up to do (in an advisory capacity) so the house will be to their liking too. They can get the mortage, no chain, and even better no estate agent fees.

Plus they can move whenever is convenient for us as they can stay where they are for as long as necessary. AND her daughter loves dd's fairy princess room, plus the nursery is all kitted out for her new son. Its perfect. Just need to find a new place for us now. Looks like this may all work out after all.

Well when are you going to tell DH ??

Is he just going to come home late one night, let himself in the door and snuggle up to the wrong woman.? Grin

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/03/2006 11:37

Excellent news! Dont tell him until you have found the house you want Wink.

Does that mean you still have to finish your a4 list of jobs?

CHICagoMUM · 15/03/2006 11:38

When I see him sherlock Grin he's still doing crazy hours.

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/03/2006 11:38

LOL LGJ!

And I mean what YOU want.

CHICagoMUM · 15/03/2006 11:41

Yes I've promised her we will get it done. They will give us the asking price then as they won't have to pay to do anything. Plus we have already bought the paint etc. We will also be saving the estate agents fee (is that something like 2% of the property value?)

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/03/2006 12:02

yes, it varies between 1.5-3%. Excellent news. So where is it you are looking to buy now?

CHICagoMUM · 15/03/2006 12:19

I really like Weybridge atm But have yet to see a property that fits in with what we want.

hunkermunker · 15/03/2006 13:46

Oh, fantastic, CM! Grin

CHICagoMUM · 15/03/2006 13:47

I've just realised something - I said to floss a few days ago something about being nauseous and she made some wise crack. Did you lot think the secret was that I'm pregnant?

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 15/03/2006 14:10

Are you? Wink

CHICagoMUM · 15/03/2006 14:51

What is the likelyhood of it hunker? It would have to be an immaculate conception Grin .

OP posts:
CHICagoMUM · 15/03/2006 14:54

In truth I would like to be, but its perhaps not the best time with all this upheaval. Plus I don't think DH could cope with that on top of every thing else. But once we are settled and I'm probably not working for a while who knows what could happen Wink . I saw a friend at the weekend with her newborn and must say I was rather broody.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 15/03/2006 20:28

Immaculate conception makes it pretty unlikely, I would imagine!

Will seeing DS2 on the 22nd help then? Wink
