I seem to remember something to do with ironing, but I'm not sure...
Can anyone help?

Blotting paper over the wax and a hot iron, I think - sort of draws it up.

You could try brown or grease proof paper on top then iron it should lift it off, i know this works on carpets but not sure about linen.

Would'nt ironing just make it worse, have you tried dipping it in boiling water??, I dont think linin shrinks does it??

AggiePanther · 13/03/2006 23:24

wouldn't greaseproof paper not soak it up because its grease proof?

Put them in the freezer for a bit and then pick it off? (Or is that chewing gum?)

edodgy · 13/03/2006 23:26

I normally use brown paper if ive spilt wax on carpets but i've heard greaseproof works too, the heat from the iron melts the wax which then sticks to the paper.

SorenLorensen · 13/03/2006 23:27

I'm pretty sure that's chewing gum, Jan (many long hours reading the handy hints in MIL's Chat! and Take a Break! magazines...)

\link{http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=channel1045\Martha Stewart} (the one who went to prison) says use kraft paper...now if only we knew what that is...

You clever girl, moo!

(I was imagining like sugar paper. It's just brown wrapping paper then!)
