Its natural enough to moan about your partner (god knows, they give us enough ammunition), and I carp on about dh all the time. But since it is the season of goodwill I thought it might be time to reflect on the good things about dh...anyone want to join in?

(I hope this thread isn't insensitive to those women hooked up with real batrds)

My dh is irritating but I love him because:

  • he is easygoing and manfully puts up with my incessant whingeing with good humour
  • he is good natured and tends to think the best about people
  • he adores dd and watching them together makes me well up sometimes
  • he can be very witty and funny (sometimes!)

Wow that makes a change from moaning about him!

He makes me laugh, and he laughs at me! (I mean with me, obviously)

And he and ds are best friends!

He forgives me when I'm wrong, and say's he's sorry.
He fusses more about christmas than me, wants things like a fairey tale for the children on christmas morning,
He loves us for ourselves, and will do anything for anyone.
He loves me a much now as he did when we married 15 years ago, and always tell me so.
He help's with the chores, cooks when he's on early's.
He takes me shopping and reminds me what we need to buy, (I always forget things I have gone out for),
He is the most wonderful person I have ever met.

OK, Good thread for me to think about as we have been having lots of rows recently

  • he's still fantastically good looking and has lovely thick grey hair (why won't he accept that I find this sexy ala Harrison Ford style??)
  • he's a wonderful dad & adores his kids
  • he gets up the night to them more often that me..
  • he rarely loses his temper
  • he care about having a comfortable, secure home, and is always trying to improve it for us
  • he's very unselfish
  • he lets me warm my feet on him when we go to bed (amongst other things! )

I just wanted to say this is a wonderful thread and has brought a real lump to my throat! Far too often we read threads where dh's /dp's are horrible - this is a brilliant reminder there are some lovely dh's in the world!

Metrobaby · 19/12/2003 14:24

He never hestitates to tell me that he loves me and dd ... Yesterday night he even said that he wouldn't like us to break up as I was his perfect soulmate that he'd been looking for

Plus he tries to make things better when I moan - which is actually quite a lot at the mo !

And he's a fantastic dad too.

Mine annoys the hell out of me. He is loud, has appalling manners, snores, is the biggest kid I know. But he cheers me up when I am feeling hormonal, moany and fat (30 weeks pregnant). Tells me and ds that he loves us everyday. He is the only person that ds (4years) has absolute hysterics with. He can play games with any child for hours on end and you can tell that he is really enjoying himself. We never argue about money and we haven't got a great deal to go around. He is not afraid to show emotion at all (cries at anything happy, sad). And as much as we can argue, I would not change him for all the money in the world.

Metrobaby and Moosh - remember, I know

DH and I share the same sense of humour and a GREAT love of wine

Supported me from Day 1 with my current career change and still puts up with me moaning about how hard it is sometimes.

Fab dad (more patient than me)

And truly my best friend.
