hi we've recently bought a mothercare pushchair and are very pleased with it but have heard various rumbles that they are not very good when it comes to things going wrong can anyone shed any light on this
the model is trenton deluxe linear

My best mate had the mothercare jive buggy

the wheel ALWAYS where down REALLY quickly on these buggies... but after 10 months hers literally broke off Shock luckily she was in town just meters from motehrcare at the time.... not that it was much help.... her 6 month garentee was over and she had to buy a new one there and then.

I would NEVER get a mothercare stroller buggy personally cause the wheels wear out unbelievably quickly compare to other brands!

I bought a mothercare stroller at a car boot last summer. so far it has been fine. it was like new..

We bought the Mothercare Citilite pushchair and we have never had a problem with it. It's very lightwieght, can be used from newborn and unlike so many others, we've only ever bought one pushchair!!

I wouldn't buy a Mothercare pushchair again. Ds got through about 4 by the age of 2, and dd's lasted around 18mths & then completely fell apart

staceym11 · 12/03/2006 15:46

we brought a mothercar big pushchair, dunno if the same as is a cosato or similar but was/is brill dd still using at 16month and will last for next baby (due nov) too.

folding buggy i got off ebay so dunno where it came from but was used for 2 years by prev owners and we've been using it for 8 months with dd and no problem, wheels havnt even worn down!!!

urban detour--straps too short and the blimmin wheel just fell off.

Another vote for the mothercare citilite - it's been going years and has been/is still well used by both ds's!

we bought a mothercare double buggy 6 years ago and it was great.

flutterbee · 12/03/2006 17:12

I had an Urban detour (not one of the 3 wheeler ones) and have used it for only 4 months but have had no problems with it, I have just stopped using it and have put ds in a cosatto whizz stroller and love it so much easier than a great big pram.

You have just reminded me I must put the pram up for sale, ebay here I come.

Hmm I have had several mothercare buggies and never had a problem with any of them.

PeachyClair · 12/03/2006 18:13

I had the mothercare urban detour three wheeler. I did line it with a sheepskin I bought gren baby which I felt made it better for a new baby, bt it was a good buggy and now resides in the cupboard ready for number 4. It was bulky though.

The only other one we ahd was a twin buggy which we affectionately called 'Buggy Hell'. It was just too big, we also had to take it back a few times as there were various security tags secreted about it that set off the alarms in town.

blueteddy · 12/03/2006 19:07

I had a mothercare buggy for DS1 (can't remember the name of it) & it was awful! The wheels used to stick on shiny shop floors, the rain cover was almost touching DS's face & it collapsed in no time.
Bought a maclaren buggy for DS2 & the difference in quality was huge!
I have had no problems with the maclaren & it is still good as new 3 years on. I would never buy another mothercare buggy.

zippitippitoes · 12/03/2006 19:15

an urban detour which is coming up to two years old, the straps are too short..it has the furry cositoes whioch is also not very generously sized and the zip broke early on but was replaced

the front wheel bit alos bent(because dd sat on it) but they did repair it foc

pleased overall

but it is bulky and seems very long when crossing roads etc

I wouldn't like to have to fold it up on regular basis, it fits in our car without folding it luckily
