Applying to be a magistrate

Changed my name for this as its all secret, but I have an interview to be a JP after christmas.

I have been told by contacts to mug up on Legalisation of Cannabis and changes in Jury trials.

Any more ideas?

bizarre - saw a sign on a back of a bus today about becoming a magistrate and thought i would look up this thread this evening!

coddy....I remember AGES ago when you mentioned about possibly doing this, I think you were under a different guise then.

my phone has been out of juice for 3 days so if you have sent me any other texts, I haven't read them I'm afraid!

Oh, and I have just got an email from my IT bod saying "you may have noticed you got no emails yesterday... well our server was shafted, sorry". So I've been almost completely incommunicado!

Good luck for the last round, I would love to apply to be a jp, but I work for probation and know too much about the offenders.

Don't forget to swot up on equal opps - very important if you are going to work in the court system.

And lastly when you are sitting be kind to the probation representatives, they do get a lot of stick from solicitors!
