Anybody had any dealings with "RED LETTER DAYS"?

My sister brought an experience day for her boyfriend for Xmas. It was for "zorbing". The voucher expires in April. She rang up to book the day for her and her boyfriend, only to be told that the experience had been permanently removed.
She was told she can book another experience and if it's a higher price, pay the difference.
Needless to say, she isn't impressed. There is nothing else that she and her boyfriend wants to do from the experiences that they offer, especially as this was partly picked due to the locations not being too far flung from where they live.
They wont offer a refund. I've looked on their terms and conditions, they talk about days being cancelled due to mechanical failure or bad weather and how they can be rescheduled, and they also offer a refund policy within 14 days with a 10% administration cost [gasp]
I'm phoning up tomorrow to talk to them, but wondered if we have a leg to stand on?

If they can't (for whatever reason) supply you with the item you have purchased, then they are bound to refund you (in full).

The 14 day refund is if you cancel the agreement - not if they renege on it! They're within thier rights to offer alternatives, but if they can't offer you zorbing then they have to give you a full refund. Otherwise they are not supplying you with the service they have agreed to.

Stick to your guns!

Zorbing s great fun BTW DH took me for my birthday!

I am going to phone tomorrow. I've been hapring on for a week that they have changed the conditions, therefore they owe a refund.
I just wanted to check I was right!
I hope that my sister can book in with Zorbing with the refund money, no doubt it will be cheaper too going direct!

ha ha ha
firstly told they couldn't offer I refund. I asked why. she said "because we dont offer refunds".
So I said "well, you sold an experience to my sister that you have taken off, she hasn't done anything wrong, there isn't a suitable alternative, so dont you have to issue a refund?"
Put on hold for a few mins, comes back and says "I'm sorry, I was wrong, we'll refund in full."

Yes & it wasn't a good one. Ex-H bought me a balloon trip one Christmas. I feel pregnant on 5th January, so in March I phoned up to say that I couldn't do the balloon trip & would like to do something else.
They refused to let me change the trip, wouldn't give ex-H his money back. They said the trip was sold in good faith & if I didn't want it, I was welcome to give it to a friend or relative!!!!!!! Didn't have the energy at the time to fight harder but thought their approach was very poor.

fell pregnant - not feel (two left hands today!)

Elf, I know GeorginaA has had dealings with Red Letter Days, and IIRC, they were in no way positive Sad
