My husband's parents are probably going to move in with us for a few days just before Christmas as they are moving house and their new place won't be ready.
They are really nice. His dad is slightly odd and does not say much. His mum is more chatty and adores our two kids. My dh is very quiet and even though it is his parents it is always left up to me to do the talking.
I am a bit worried about it. Like most people I am really used to my own selfish ways! Once our kids are in bed at about 7pm my husband and I slob around and barely communicate, which suits us fine. The idea of making conversation in the evenings fills me with horror! ( spotted this same attitude on the au pairs thread!)
Any tips for a harmonious few days? Thanks

My MIL has just arrived - I have had to listen to an hour of how wonderful her darling boy (dh) is and how he is a perfect father and husband - aggghhh. This not only makes me want to kill her but puts me off her ds She shows little interest in my wonderful girl (dd) and drinks like a fish. Sorry - had to let off steam

grommit LOL ! My MIL is EXACTLY the same and it makes me want to puke. He could commit murder and she'd still think the sun shone out of the proverbial !

Tillysmummy - mine snores like a wild animal - you would really have to hear it to believe it - maybe I will take dd away for a girly weekend....

grommit mine doesn't except when he is blind drunk which he was the other night and completely out of order and I told MIL to see what her reaction would be and she just said 'oh well' - drives me f*ing mad !
