please tell me there is a mumsnet network over there! Grin

DH is a Kiwi and loves Oz and I've been before and quite like it too. Ah the weather! Ah the beaches, the bbq's etc. Grin

Also probably a nice place for our kids to grow up :)

So tell me... anybody from Australia on here! Most likely place we'll end up is Sydney

sorry to be nosey
but why are you going back to the UK? Are you out here on working visas?

hannahsaunt · 08/03/2006 08:10

Hi Suzy - yes - working visas. Dh is here as a part of his SpR training programme - he needed to spend a year at a smaller hospital to get general medical experience. We faced moving either 80 or 120 miles from home so we thought why not do it in style and move all the way over the world...It has been great and we will do it again but work commitments (more mine than his) mean that we must be back (and at my desk) on 1 August this year. Not sure that we would do this distance for more than a couple of years at a time - there's a lot of family stuff that we're missing out on at home and the boys miss their grandparents dreadfully. It's going to be a wrench to leave though.

Can I just ask if property is expensive?

mrstootough · 08/03/2006 09:45

Any one recommend A good area to live for kids near schools, hospitals and near the ship yards in Perth is it fre0

suzywong · 08/03/2006 09:49

go to www realestate dot com, get the WA page up and choose Fremantle, your required number of bedrooms and be sure to check the box that shows properties in the adjacent suburbs.

Not knowing anything about your circumstances MrsTT, I would say the average family could be accommodated very nicely for AUD400k within 15 mins drive of the Freo Hospital or Murdoch Hospital and the Port.

HH that seems perfectly reasonable, carry on.

Does everyone use skype to contact home in the uk. Free calls to anyone else who has skype if u are using it. Great saving. Worth a look into.
