Help with teething

Hi there, my 8 month old is sprouting her 5th tooth, and this bout of teething has been truly horrendous - for us both! The poor little thing is clearly in a lot of pain but no more than the previous 4 - however the difference this time is she is completely refusing to drink her milk - from a bottle, or a cup. She normally has three 7oz bottles a day, morning, lunchtime and bedtime and she is just about drinking a couple of ounces in the morning but that is it. This has gone on for 3 days now and I am a little worried now. She is dairy allergic so I cannot get the calcium into her through cheese or yoghurt etc. She is still eating her solids, but nowhere near the same amounts she used to and is crying throughout meal times whereas before she used to love meal times. Has anyone else had a similar experience when their child has completely rejected milk? I have a doctors appointment booked but the earliest they could see her is 5 days from now.
Thanks in advance for any advice, or even just words of reassurance saying that others have had this too?

Hello!
We're going through the same here. Ds is 13 months , has 6 teeth but it cutting another 2 . This morning, he also refused his milk but gave calpol and tried again in 20 mins and it worked. A HV once suggested Dentinox teething gel and I think he likes the taste as he was happy for me to go near his gums!!!
It's horrible isn't it? I've never seen ds in such a 'state' . Screaming, tantrums etc and off his solids too.
Major hand holding from me.

Have you tried teething gel before meal times?

Thanks so much, I will try gel before her feed tomorrow, she wont even let me put a syringe near her mouth to get calpol in but hopefully i can sneak some gel in. it is truly horrible seeing them in so much pain isn't it X

I know, I do feel for you ( both). Ds won't take calpol willingly so have to hold him and slowly squirt it in.
Fingers crossed you have a peaceful night.

Have you tried an amber necklace? Worked wonders for DS and everyone who I have mentioned them to who tried them. Might be worth a shot.
