I have actually started to declutter/organise the house!!! Wow!!

I currently have dd's soft toys in a laundry style pop-up thing, and it's in the way!

Do I get rid? Or will I regret it when she's older?

Or, do I find a better storage system for a not too huge bedroom? ....HELP!!!

Well get rid of some of them, and make a point from today to never buy anymore...\link{http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4444987568&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1\ebay is full of these this one just happens to be mine} :)

SleepySuzy · 04/03/2006 08:42

I have never bought any, can't stand them, but I think cos she's a girl, people think it's the done thing to buy them for her!!!

I get rid of one every few weeks and hope they don't notice.

Katymac · 04/03/2006 08:54

Hang it from the ceiling?

Put some in a balck bag in the attic?

colditz · 04/03/2006 09:30

I have a ds and we have been swamped since his birth, I am ruthless though and binbag them.

Please, please, though, don't give them to anyone else without checking first that they want them. This has happened to us several times - someone turns up with a big bag of tatty cuddly toys that smell of attic... "Oh we couldn't bare to throw them away!"

Well, that's a shame, because that is what will happen if they give them to me. I hate them.

SleepySuzy · 04/03/2006 09:31

lol!! I know exactly what you mean!

We have a chain that hangs from a hook in the ceiling and they all clip onto that. Put the good ones up the top and the bears that dd1 actually likes playing with are down the bottom that she can take off.

eidsvold · 04/03/2006 12:26

\link{http://dstore.com.au/?action=view&id=571401\here} I just bought extra hooks/clips.

called a teddy tidy chain.

Agree with Enid get rid of some!!! I know the feeling dps aunt always offloads old teddies onto us, and TBH they always smell of must. I'm going to start washing them and taking them down the charity shop. Last time I did a boot sale ended up giving a load away cos they were doing my head in! In terms of storage, IKEA do some hanging storage which we got for ds room. They cost a £1 and have 3 sections, not very big but a start. I'm sure they have larger ones.

SleepySuzy · 04/03/2006 14:18

That's quite a funky idea!

I've washed plush toys at 30degrees and they're still soft and smart.

How old is your DD? Would she understand if you talked it through about donating them to charity and choosing ones she doesn't play with?
If not, yup, just pick out the ones you know she's not interested in, wash them and stick them in a charity shop or better still carboot sale! It's a good time to do the same with outgrown clothes too, as long as you're not planning more kids...Grin
I'm doing a carboot sale next month in preparation for moving house. DH won't know what's hit him!

SleepySuzy · 05/03/2006 20:48

Well, she's 2, and to be honest, I don't think she cares whether they're there or not. But there are a couple I would like to keep that were presents from birth.
