Recurring Dreams - any experts?

Firstly, let me just say that I am very much the sort of person who usually takes this kind of thing with a large pinch of salt, but this has made me a little curious.

For some years now I have had quite a vivid dream - it varies slightly and is quite scary. I haven't really discussed it with anyone. It doesn't bother me greatly.

This morning my dd said she had a bad dream last night - but she went on to say she has it from time to time. We were in a hurry, but conversationally I asked her what it was about. She went on to describe the dream I keep having!

I guess some dreams are quite commom themes, although I haven't really heard of this one before.

I don't really know what I'm getting at here, but how can we both be having the same unusual dream?

Ah well, now this is the weird bitBlush

I am always at a beach and a massive wave comes in. Sometimes I am engulfed, sometimes swept high up on it. I know how this sounds - all influenced by Tsumani coverage. But I have been having this for years. When the tsumani did happen for real, it was chillingly like my dream. I have had it since though.

Dd described the same thing and says she has it a lot. Always at the beach etc. We are not the sort to keep mulling over dreams and meanings and so on - too busy tearing about with day to day stuff.

I've had that dream too

started when I was a child, I put it down to the fact that I lived in a a house which backed on to the beach but the tide was renowned for always being miles out so it wasn't exactly a real threat!

Thanks Zippi - interesting you should've had it too. Perhaps it is a commonplace one after all. Dd is still going on about it when she came out after school. Neither she nor I have had a bad experience with water and enjoy the seaside, which is near where we live.

Bumping for any evening thoughtsSmile

mothers and daughters must share very similar thought patterns. whatever this dream your having symbolises or means must come from a ay of thinking that you both have...sorry that might not make much sense!
both me and my mum have a recurring dream that our teeth are falling out which is, i think, a common thing to dream but whatever insecurities trigger it we obviously both have them.
