How old are the children? My DD is 6.5 and all of the parents at her parties all still stay.

lol LGJ, most of the kids are around 6yrs old. i have a sneaky suspecion that some parents are going to get siblings in as well. which i will not be happy about.

I'd say you need another 2 or 3 adults to help with general things like food, trips to the loo, etc.

And yes, be prepared for siblings to come. DD's last b'day party was at soft play, and if parents stayed, siblings stayed too. It gets a bit tricky when it's time for food and party bags (if you're doing them).

yes am doing food and party bags for the 15 kids. the babies not so much. already had the brother of one girl asking if he can come, i have said he cant asw i dont have space. also dd1 doesnt like him.

I never mind little gatecrashers tbh as their parents have always sorted their food out for them and pay for them to play. I have on occasion taken a few little party bags with me though if I knew certain siblings would be coming. Just a balloon and a few sweets or piece of cake and v small item which I'd have spare from previous party.

Aero · 02/03/2006 22:07

Mind you that was when the play place was providing the party bags for the invited guests!

misdee · 02/03/2006 22:08

as long as they pay for them and dont expect me too ,then i cant stop them.

I have a 4 year old and 2 year old and find it quite tricky to take the 4 year old to parties on her own. Generally, if the party is at the weekend, the 2 year old stays at home with DH. But during the week I have no choice but to take the 2 year old with me. I always ask the parents first to make sure that it is OK. So far they all seem OK about it, but if they say no then probably the 4 year old wouldnt be able to go as I dont think she would stay on her own. However, I dont expect the 2 year old to be fed or to have a party bag. We have been to parties at soft play centres and I pay for the 2 year old to get in and pay for her food.
