I have bought him a couple of nice shirts ( damn near broke the bank ) but it looks rather mean - so I am looking for some "tokens" from the kids ( and the family pets )
Do you have any nice ideas ??
Thanks

Can you get a toy model of his car? And some cheap novelty socks/tie just so he can say he had some (cos that's what all dads get). Sunglasses? New wallet?
Could the pets (ahem) "buy" him something topical, eg a scarf from the dog so he can wrap up warm on all those long walks in the park? Or a big box of chocs from the cat, to be eaten while cat is on his knee being stroked? Please don't tell me you have iguanas or terrapins - not that inventive.

waterstones have calendars, desk top ones (pageaday) that make paper aeroplanes!!

I sometimes buy those long modelling ballons you can make animals etc out of - they aren't expensive and it's fun to see what we can make with them - better than watching the rubbish they put on the telly at Christmas (IMHO). They usually come with tips on how to make various different animals if you're a novice.

Have a look at www.iwantoneofthose.com

They group things according to price (lots of stuff under a tenner) and have lots of blokey, gadget-y type stuff.

They also have stuff like jet planes for £10,000!

Make your own (insert photo/pic) snow globe from Paperchase or on a website, either Urchin or GLTC, can't remember.....

cystaltips, for dh's birthday I made up a hamper full of things that he loves, like blue cheese, pate, toffees, miniature fruit pies, chocolates etc etc. I bought a basket to put them in and tied it up with ribbon & cellophane, it looked really good and he thought it was great. You could make a small one and just put some of his favourite things in it, he'd probably love it. Just an idea
