dd1 faked a sore throat earlier to get out of going to harefield, but had no-one to look after her so said we'd have to stay in al day and that means no soft play this afternoon, cue miraclous recovery. dd3 was having a nap at this point. She just woke up screaming, so went to get her, her eyes were glued shut with gunk! she has an eye infection. already have the drops to treat it as she was a bit gungy yesterday. phoned the hospital to see if eye infections were a no-no for visting, and they are.

poor peter will have no visitors today

yes we do!

hunkermunker · 25/02/2006 19:29

I'd offer to visit, but as you can see from my puking thread, really not a good plan. Hope DD3 is better soon.

kid · 25/02/2006 19:29

Of course we care. Hope Peter didn't mind too much, he knows its for his own good that he isn't in contact with infections.

He is back on the transplant list isn't he?

alliebaba · 25/02/2006 19:30

we all care love! i'm sure he understands

misdee · 25/02/2006 19:32

i was jiking about no-one caring lol.

hje is utterly depressed and feels like a failure. i have told him he isnt. he is back on this list but not a prioity he is also being fast tracked to get home. means i should be de-cluttering more

cyan · 25/02/2006 19:33

oh bless peter. he's not a failure. i think you're all amazing.

NotQuiteCockney · 25/02/2006 19:35

You know that breastmilk fixes eye infections really well?

Too bad you can't go see Peter, though.

noddyholder · 25/02/2006 19:38

Why are they fast tracking him for home insead of on the priority list when he has a young family and is so young himself?Makes me so cross It is not just about the effect on his life but all of you Hope things improve soon xx

misdee · 25/02/2006 19:41

the unit is being overtaken by VAD patients, the other week all the ground floor and upstairs was full up. As the VAd patients are long term bed swellers lol, then they are now aiming to get them home wheras before they'd had stayed in till transplant. They say his recovery will be better at home as he'll be doing more and hopfully his strength will increase. there is a massive massive shortage of donors atm, they actually had a weekend of no calls last month, thats unheard of!

noddyholder · 25/02/2006 19:51

Oh Misdee that is tough because sometimes even if you don't get the call yourself seeing someone else get a transplant does up the morale of the other patients.I used to be full of hope when someone got the call I think it kept me going in a way Do they expect you to help with the machine etc

misdee · 25/02/2006 19:57

we just want anyone to have a transplant on the ward.

Misdee for Peter but I am sure he understands.

Why on earth would he consider himself a failure though? The way you two have held everything together is incredible.

(This weekend is the 1st anniversary of my cousins lo passing from his heart condition, so have been talking about you today- so sending lots of love X)
