My dd1 has got very bad excema which she has had since she was 3 months old. After a long process of trial and error, myself and my previous doctor came up with a cream and a bath oil that really suited her, and she has it on a never ending repeat prescription.
Well, a short while ago we moved house, and had to change doctors. One of the doctors at the new surgery is now saying that I can't have the cream AND the bath oil and that I have to choose one or the other!!! This has made me really angry as she needs BOTH of them, it's not like they are the same thing!! None of the other doctors or the practice nurse at the surgery have a problem with it - just him!! Grrr
Should I complain or am I just being greedy and should accept one or the other?

If the other GPs don't have a problem with this, can you make sure that your appointments are always with one of the other GPs?

Otherwise take it up with the Practice Manager.

Yes, I have tried her on just one and it always ends up getting really bad and ending up needing steroid cream. WWB, yes, I always make sure my appointments are with another doctor, however, the problem arises when it's his turn to sign all the repeat prescriptions. Dh thinks I should write to the practice manager, is this a wise move or would it just wind him up?!

We had cream AND bath oil for dd1

If it works then why change it? Ridiculous.

Greedy? No!

Insist on both and refuse to leave.
