Was in the car the other day, me in passenger seat, dd behind me. I could see her in the wing mirror and she was sucking her hair, so I told her to stop. She said how did you know I was sucking my hair and I said I've got eyes in the back of my head. Of course she didn't believe me, so I told her to do something else which I could see with my extra eyes. This went on, holding up fingers, pulling faces etc. At first she was amazed then got a bit freaked out (she's a bright 8 year old!). So in the end I had to come clean but it really is funny

One of my DS's tends to get up from his chair when telling a story at the dinner table.I'm forever saying,"Sit down and eat your breakfast/lunch/dinner."
The other day I'd polished my kettle and I could see through into the dinning room while washing up, noticed he'd got up and said,"Tom sit down please".
There was silence for a few minutes then my other DS whispered,"How did she see that."

Twiglett, I had to tell her, she actually was really freaked out in the end but thought it was dead funny when I told her.

DS often says "How do you know"
"Because I am a Mummy of corse!"

I'm an optometrist and we test people by using a wall chart behind their chair which they view in a mirror on the opposite wall. One day a mum came in with her two boys who were watching the proceedings but didn't notice the mirror and thought she was reading from the chart behind her. When one of them asked how she could see it, she said, quick as a flash,
"Didn't you know about the eyes in the back of my head?"
They still hadn't figured it out by the time they left!

As a teacher you develop a 'sense' of what is going on in the classroom behind you when you're writing on the board. A few times at the start of my career I've said 'john sit down please' or similar. Totally shocks the kids that I 'know' what's going on without looking. Also the same when marking if the kids are working quietly. i could tell who was whispering without looking and would tell them off.
