How about sending DD in PJs and dressing gown - she could be sleeping beauty? Where are you Beety, I have loads of dressing up stuff I would lend if any where near me - S. Yorks. Or how about captain hook - adult shirt belted with tights or leggings, pirate hat (may have to buy that) hook made out of tinfoil covered cardboard? Dick whittington - trousers, white shirt, waistcoat if poss, cap, knapsack made from teatowel and broomhandle? Asda have quite cheap dressing up stuff if you are struggling!

A big Woolies with a toy and clothes section will have lots of good (well....in a crackly synthetic sort of way) costumes for less than a tenner.
