yesterday mieow and i took our kids to soft paly area near where we live. i had her ds in my car as he wanted to go in my car (the nifty little screen got his attention lol). but we couldnt get a disabled space. so i had to park right at the back far away from the entrance. (mieows ds has cerebal palsy and hold a blue badge).

do you know we couldnt get a space? cos some selish women decided the fact they had two MPV full of kids that they had righst to park there rather than someone who has a disability.

This makes me really cross too, I would definitely complain about the emplyee who was parked there. My mum has blue badges and she finds it really difficult to get in and out of the car and she needs the extra space to poen the door. Once she parked in a disable space and some moron parked on the extra bit off the space at the side and she coudn't get back in her own car!!! She had to wait for the prat to come back

it gets my back up completely. my mum is disabled having suffered an aneurism 6 years ago, and as a result is disabled. i cant stand it when we go to the supermarket and there's someone parked in the disabled spot with no badge displayed and they are just waiting for someone who's just 'popped' into the shop.

Misdee what you need are those stickers that say "You've taken my parking space - would you like my disability too?"

I saw one stuck on the side window of a BMW once, it nearly covered it and was bright yellow. I bet it made the point though!

Glad it isn't just me who finds it maddenning-come on then-print your stickers and get stickig!

MB-SO glad DD is ok-and absolutely not anywhere near whatwe are talking about-I would park in an ambulance bay if my DD was fitting.....

"Hairy arsed teenagers" getting out of a car ina motherand baby space annoys me but less than disabled spaces.Peole choose to have children, nobody chooses to be disabled....

This is one of my pet hates. I have 3 kids (all under 5) and remember one time asking a man to move his car out of a Parent and Child Space. He did it!!! Well my ds was only 2 yrs and the dt's were in carry style car seats (very heavy) and it was pissing with rain.
There have been other incidents where I've made comments about people not being able to read as they walked by.I nearly got in to a stand-up fight on one occasion, not ideal with 3 young kids watching.
I even wrote to my local supermarket manager complaining and he said that it was difficult to supervise, as some parents come to pick up their partners and kids - oh really!!!!
I'm ranting now!!!!!!

i have asked people when with my mum, if they are disabled. if not ask them to move so mum can have space. it was prob my mums pal from her stroke survivors organisation which stuck that yellow sticker on the bmw, he keeps a supply in his glove box bless him

skribble, i would have thought you would need a parent/child space at 9months pregnant, i know i had trouble squeezing outa my car in a normal space, unless you have a lovely neat little bump unlike mine was

I think the playcentre staff member should really be taken to task - I would be making a formal complaint for sure.
The other week I followed a snazzy mini cooper to Tesco which took the last parent and child place. I parked further away, seven months preggers with SPD and a toddler and then stalked the young floozy driver round the supermarket seething but saying nothing! Should have put a note under her windscreen eh?

Skribble · 19/02/2006 22:27

777777 I suppose i did, but I wasn't in the car when DH parked he came to pick me up.

swedishmum · 19/02/2006 22:38

Have challenged Tesco when I saw a young staff member park in disabled bay then go off to work - they called him out then made him move. Really winds me up even though I don't need a blue badge. I'd go spare at staff member in a space.
