oak flooring

pascy · 17/02/2006 19:43

We have natural wood floor, with a thick hessian rug(ikea). The rug has been brilliant for hiding countless food and drink stains.

MrsSpoon · 17/02/2006 19:48

Stripped wood floor with pale gold rug with green pattern. The kids have been fine with the rug it's DH who caused the problem by spilling red wine on it and now it will never be the same again.

blueshoes · 17/02/2006 20:39

One of my mates has a brown leather sofa and a terracotta carpet - they look great together.

Gingerbear · 17/02/2006 20:43

Oak & cream rugs

CaptainCavemansMummy · 17/02/2006 20:44

mumfor1standfinaltime, where do you live??
Your house sounds v familiar.....

PeachyClair · 17/02/2006 20:47

Bigey, but we got it to go with a dodgy patterned carp[et in a rented house. It actually matches our picture frames though- that was the biggest draw! (We have a picture we chose each out of some of the money when we had to sell house, we cherish them very much).

littlemissbossy · 17/02/2006 20:48

oak floors here too

CaptainCavemansMummy · 17/02/2006 20:51

mumfor...changed my mind. My friend has the same colour walls... but doesn't have a carpet. Sorry if I freaked you out!

Sparklemagic · 17/02/2006 21:38

HA HA! We have had to move to rented accommodation while we wait to find THE house and I have to tell you just for entertainment value that our nice brown leather sofa sits proudly atop a red, flowery, swirly, old man's pub style carpet!

Go for it, it's lovely....

mumfor1standfinaltime · 18/02/2006 09:50

Thats ok captaincavemansmummy!!

magnolia1 · 18/02/2006 13:03

Sparkle, ours too

Dh is out as we speak finding flooring!

sparklymieow · 18/02/2006 13:45

b&q and homebase both have flooring very cheap atm about 6.50 a pack...

magnolia1 · 18/02/2006 13:50

We went to Homebase yesterday but the packs we were looking at are awful, A couple had just bought 12 packs back to the shop coz it wouldnt go together and so the guy who worked there tried to put 2 pieces together on th shop floor. He said it was the worst he has ever tried to do

Are you getting the Ikea ones still? We may look there

sparklymieow · 18/02/2006 13:52

dunno what one we are going for now, have used B&Q's one in this house, and it went together fine, just depends on when we actually move and if I have time to get the ikea one.
