I like mouses.

SP, if ratón means mouse, what is Spanish for rat please?

SenoraPostrophe · 17/02/2006 14:19

rata

why?

QE2 · 17/02/2006 14:21

One mouse.

Two mooses.

But that's just me.

tarantula · 17/02/2006 14:26

Well its mouses (or meeces) in this IT Dept. Anyone wanting mice gets directed to Operations who (so we tell them) will quite happily catch some for them and will supply cockroaches free of charge too

But then I'm an awkward bugger me

Oh, I was just curious, SP - having seen "ratón" I wondered if Spanish mouses are so big they have to call them rats, so I checked what it means (v disappointed now )

Does ratón = little rat?

mousiemousie · 17/02/2006 14:43

mice - takes one to know one

SenoraPostrophe · 17/02/2006 14:46

actually ón on the end of a word usually means big - sillón is armchair, and silla is chair, for example. so ratón= big rat. maybe they do have huge mice here. I haven't seen any though.

SenoraPostrophe · 17/02/2006 14:51

it's definately mice - it's the same word as for the rodent, so why wouldn't it be?

hunkermunker · 17/02/2006 14:52

Miaou · 17/02/2006 16:42
