yes

harpsichordcarrier · 16/02/2006 15:08

yes at least on that day

Caligula · 16/02/2006 15:08

Yes

Caligula · 16/02/2006 15:09

I'd also take it as a sign that I could sneak away and arse about on Mumsnet, or read the paper.

I would not take it as a sign that I should do the ironing though.

zippitippitoes · 16/02/2006 15:10

good I was feeling guilty because I have dgs and his mum doesn't put him down but I do (because I would go insane and not get any work done otherwise)

Well, for a change I put my ds3 (26m)down for a nap after lunch yesterday because he was tired and grumpy. (I stopped his naps 2 months ago because he would wake in the night and stay up for a couple of hours). What happened ? Yes, he woke up at 2.15am and stayed awake until 4.45am...

So...nice though the daytime break was, never again...

brimfull · 16/02/2006 16:11

ds asleep on the couch right now and he gave up his nap about 6mos ago!

FAN bloody TASTIC!!!!!!!!

Dinosaur · 16/02/2006 16:12

I wouldn't do it if it would wreck his nighttime sleep.

My DS3 would cheerfully have a nap at 5 p.m. but I can't let him because he'd be up half the night then.

well, we shall see if she has problems with bed tonight..I don't think she will, I hope not

he has sudenly started trying to say lots, his word craze for today was sick

zippi, how old is your "toddler"? I have 3y2m old twin boys who still sleep in the day (1-1.5 hours) but I think it is starting to affect my eldest's nighttime sleep. but, I tried dropping it one day last week and the evening was a NIGHTMARE.

Anyone else have children this old still sleeping in the day????

futurity · 16/02/2006 19:56

DS1 only stopped his nap in October when he was 3.9 years but had one the other day because he was ill and falls asleep in the car if we are out and about late afternoon sometimes

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 16/02/2006 20:07

DS2 2yrs 3months still has anything from 1 1/2hrs up to about 3hrs (if I let him ) every afternoon. He then sleeps from 8pm-8am(ish).

zippitippitoes · 16/02/2006 20:17

he is only just coming up to 22 months, I've always put him down for a nap but dd doesn't have the same kind of routine..

dd1 ( 3 1/2) still has a rest/sleep in the afternoon - she knows she does not have to sleep but needs to play quietly for an hour or so. Due to her impaired sleeping at the moment - it usually means however she sleeps for about two hours.

dd2 ( 15 months) also goes down after lunch - unless she is exhausted prior to lunch and I just put her down adn then she has a late lunch.
