Somewhat niche interest, I admit, but some of the content on

kiddierecords.com is great fun.

You can download whole albums, individual songs or just stream audio with no download. Go to the link and click on the 2005 or 2006 catalogue link. They have transcribed one album per week. Very well organised and excellent sound quality.

Post any fab links in this thread.

I am currently listening to Mr Toad - The Adventures of Ichabod and Toad, LOL - stream here (if it works for you, else it's on this page for example .

And there's Cinderella , Tom Thumb, Robin Hood etc. etc. etc.

And rather good Queen's English pronunciation, LOL

Enjoy !

What a great site, Hub, thanks so much for telling us about it . I love those records.

Here's a nice one for songs with a theme-based index as well as an alphabetical one.

Flamesparrow · 13/02/2006 09:36

Oooh I like the sound of that... DD falls asleep listening to things, and it would be nice to get some stuff that isn't scary american children shrieking it!

Jasnem · 13/02/2006 09:48

Thanks for the links, Hub.
My girls will love these.

hub2dee · 13/02/2006 09:56

No problem ! Was worried there for a moment I was being too retro old skool for you lot, LOL. Do post links to any particularly great songs / stories as there's a fair amount of stuff to wade through otherwise !

(I read about the site on Daddytypes.com )

These are so great, hub2dee! Brilliant people narrating too - Claude Rains doing The Story of Jesus, might see what the kids think of that next Sunday!

BTW, I tried to download something using their torrent zip but my computer can't open the file, do you know how that should work?

suzywong · 13/02/2006 10:26

fantastic
thansk for the site

I really need a bit of Received Pronunciation, I don't want my kids growing up with an Ocker Accent and this should keep them balanced.

BonyM · 13/02/2006 10:29

Excellent H2D! Thanks for the link.

Wilbur - I can't open the torrent zip file either but can save it direct to iTunes.

hub2dee · 13/02/2006 10:34

BitTorrent is a system for downloading files. It's based on a peer-to-peer type network topology (a la Napster), but the files you want to download are actually chopped up and spread on different computers IIRC (never used it meself). What you do is download one of the BitTorrent apps, and then it should enable you to download these music files IYSWIM.

The BitTorrent FAQ has a list of downloaders to choose from here .

HTH (BTW, the FAQ also explains much more about BitTorrent)

don t work here

hub2dee · 13/02/2006 10:41

Under Download Option A, you can just right click the file (all you Windoze users), and click 'save as' and you should be able to download the MP3 file to your hard drive. If you can't play it you either don't have an mp3 player, or iTunes, or speakers.

Thanks hub. Will try and do some dowloading later. Am supposed to be tackling my in box which is threatening to take over the shed. Wish there were a zip application for reams of paperwork.

mrsdarcy · 13/02/2006 13:31

Snort at "don't have speakers" . Are we really that bad?

hub2dee · 13/02/2006 14:20

Dunno, but really can't see why cod couldn't play an mp3 link, LOL. Maybe I'm spoilt cos it's just SO DARN EASY ON A MAC.

Click.... Listen.... Smile.
