dont feel terrible. It's one of those things.

tortoiseshell · 10/02/2006 18:51

i know, just hate it when they hurt themselves! Wasn't anyone's fault at all.

My DS shoved my dad out the way whilst trying to get up the stairs. He stumbled and fell all the way down. He sat at the bottom, let out an angry yell, then stomped off to play with the fridge magnets. He was only just passed one at the time. My dad still feels very bad about it but it wasn't his fault.
She's fine and doing her daughterly duty of trying to cheer you up.

Same thing happened to my DD whose 20 months a few weeks ago.
I went to hold her hand but she lost her blance and fell head first all the way down our wooden stairs.
A few biscuits soon calmed her down.

If it makes you feel any better, dt2, also 2 was coming down the stairs today when I came down behind her carrying the bedding, I went passed her, and as I did one of the sheets dropped down, I did'nt notice and carried on going, only the sheets had caught her behind her head and pulled her down the stair head first, she was fine though, and for once beat me to the bottom

This made me feel awful. I was very very puffed up and up myself when my neice told me her dd had fallen down the stairs, 'take her to casualty' I yelled, 'if that was my child, I would'. One year on my DS fell down the stairs and I mopped him up with half a chocolate biscuit and a cuddle. As someone said earlier its one of those things. He is 2 BTW.

blimey don't feel bad,my ds fell down an escalator backwards like a stuntman doing backward somersaults. He was 2 at the time....he pulled his hand out of mine, hence I now hold his wrist...tightly!

Tinker · 10/02/2006 19:18

gscrym - I read that as though your dad had fallen down the stairs

brimfull · 10/02/2006 19:19

he was fine by the way, after a minute of screaming!

chipkid · 10/02/2006 19:34

must be something in the air-my ds just fell down three steps of the stairs and bashed his toe!

anchovies · 10/02/2006 19:37

Tinker so did I, I was wondering why gscrym's dad was playing with the fridge magnets!!

edodgy · 10/02/2006 19:38

Don't feel bad theres definately something in the air this week ..no stairs here but here's the run down of my dd's (2.10 yrs)week...
Monday - slipped whilst cleaning her teeth pushed back and chipped front tooth
Tuesday - Dp lifted ds's bouncy chair didn't realise dd was behind him gave her a black eye
Wednesday - am - bead stuck up nose luckily managed to retrieve it avoiding embarassing trip to casualty. Pm - I was playing with her grabbed her hand she pulled and twisted and dislocated her arm resulting in embarrassing trip to casualty where they popped it back in!

So don't worry accidents do happen

starlover · 10/02/2006 19:41

definitely something in the air!
ds fell out his pushchair today and bashed his head on the floor in Boots. Massive egg on his forehead now!

One of the twins turned the iron on and dd4 (age 2.5) tripped and burnt her foot on the iron

I felt it was my fault for leaving the iron out although i left it unplugged, but of course now its in the cupboard

Was terrified social services would be round!!
