help with streaky windows

argh, our local shop didn't have any window cleaner so i bought some finish rinsing agent, the stuff you put in a dishwasher to stop streaks and make glassware sparkly, and watered it down in a spray bottle.
it has made the windows horribly streaky, and they still are even though i'vre gone ovber them twice, one time just using white vinegar.
i assumed it would be pretty much the same stuff as window cleaner, but its made a real mess.

can anyone advise what to do?, i wouldn't care but it's made them so much worse than before i started, which is annoying,..

I'd wash them with soap and water

then a diluted vinegar solution

then polish with old newspaper

(actually I wouldn't .. I'd get someone else to do but that's what I think might help)

lol..i wish i could get someone else to.
we are on the 1/st and 2nd floor and the local window cleaners won't climb up that high.
they're a real pain too as they are all hefty sash windows.

well.. i did them again with soapy water, and now figure it'll be dark soon so I won't worry about how they look til tomorrow...
thanks anyway..lol

I always dry with newspaper, it leaves no streaks, I do use a window spray though.
