Rats don't faint do they?

Have just put a rat that the cat brought in into the bin but am now fretting that it had only passed out and is going to wake up and chase me round the house.

rofl

Sorry but that has really made me chuckle!

Um....don't know the answer to the question!

Flossam · 07/02/2006 19:43

LOL! Sorry but the idea of a rat fainting at the site of the cat!!

I suspect you would be ok. Can't you check?

Blandmum · 07/02/2006 19:44

no, he will be dead

Flossam · 07/02/2006 19:44

sight even. Durr.

Passionflower · 07/02/2006 19:48

Well I poked it but it was just floppy, but no obvious fatal wounds.

DH is out working late tonight so I have only the cats to defend me. Have been known to stand on a chair yelling at the cats, "catch the bloody thing and take it back outside!" This was when they let a live one loose last year. Had to get the rat man round in the end.

Blandmum · 07/02/2006 19:55

Passionflower · 07/02/2006 20:03

Oops, forgot about the breathing! Am reassured now cos I'm pretty sure it wasn't breathing.

Still take the bag outside in case it's a miraculous rat. Unlikely, but why risk it.

MarsOnLife · 07/02/2006 20:10

PMSL!

Serendippity · 07/02/2006 20:13

I don't know about rats...but we once had a "fainting" enormous hairy spider. Again, cat bought it in (wierd cat liked spiders, don't ask) and left it by the cat flap, we came in and said spider was flat on its back, legs curled up into it's chest- apparently dead. Spider was promptly wrapped in paper and deposited in living room bin. 30 mins later we heard a rustling and out it came large as life and non the worse for it's ordeal.
It was horrible.
Basicaly i would say...chuck the rat in the bin outside

Passionflower · 07/02/2006 20:31

Ewww at spider!

OK bin is outside now.

Please , please tell me you are not a vet , doc or nurse in RL

Passionflower · 07/02/2006 20:36

Should rat wake up his is going to be mightily p*ssed off as he is now sealed in bin bag with DD3's nappies and half a jar of curry sauce on him. Also so he is at the front of the house so cannot be rescued by the cats.

Needless to say cats are also p*ssed off at having their prize confiscated.

Passionflower · 07/02/2006 20:37

Deff not Doc. nurse or vet!

WigWamBam · 07/02/2006 20:38

The half a jar of curry sauce is just the icing on the cake ... that's hysterical

This probably isn't the time to tell you that sometimes mice and rats play dead when cats catch them ...

Passionflower · 07/02/2006 20:44

Will let you know should there be curry sauce footprints across the drive in the morning.
