Not very exciting I'm afraid, but does anyone know anything about postal orders?

I have sold something on Ebay & the person who won didn't realise that I only accept Paypal. They have asked to pay by cheque or postal order (& have 100% positive feedback).

I don't know which is the safest & don't know what you do with a PO.Does anyone know?
Thanks

I think you take it to the post office and you get the equivalent value in cash.

I think you can just take a postal order into a PO and cash it, pretty simple.
Have only ever sent them though and not received them so not 100% on this! lol

xx

Yes Crystaltips is right-I had one recently and hadn't got a clue what to do with it either -had to ask a friend

Yes, you cash them at the post office, but cheques are safer I think.

If the person that sends you a cheque crosses it (puts your name on the front) it means you will have to put it into your bank account to cash it. If they leave the front blank, you can just take it to the PO and get the cash there.

The plus side of postal orders is thats its guaranteed payment, unlike a cheque that you have to wait for it to clear.

Thanks,I'd tried the Royal mail website & that had no info.

I should have known that MNetters would know!
