The cupboard is under the stairs on the outside wall with an air vent in it. Theres no heating in the hallway to warm up the cupboard, what can I do to get rid of the mould thats there and prevent it from coming back please.

Clean up thoroughly and use a anti fungal paint then put a vent at the top and bottom of the hall door to encourage airflow

also use crystals to dry the air and don't put any damp or soiled items in there

Thanks Zippi, any idea if I could get antimould paing form Homebase/B and Q? I could get one of those crystals things too from there I think, how much will the paint cost? If its gonna be 20 quid for a pot I may as well stay here till I get some pennys together lol

You might be able to get this paint there, International Anti Condensation Paint with anti fungal properties

An alternative to the vents in the door is to leave the door partially open! And not have too much stuff in there against the wall

The door is mostly left open as we are messy sods and rarely do all the shoes stay IN the cupboard Goning to go and look for the paint as we need a door for the kitchen too

Also check that there is nothing on the outside causing damp

Nothing outside leaning against the wall or anything, just the vernt leading outside. Which isnt blocked from either side.

We had mould in my kids wardrobe at my old flat, after loads of investigating, we were told it was rising damp. We controlled it by washing it with neat bleach every few weeks until the council re-plastered the wall. We actually moved before they completed the job so I have no idea if it worked.

Have just been down to B and Q the paint was 24 quid so I have left it in the store, I read on the back of the tin about the bleach and water and thought I would give that a bash. With crystals and shoes in the way letting the air ventilate
