Costco membership

In my drive to economise, I am taking out membership of Costco. Dh is self-employed so we qualify on that front. However, one of his colleagues is a member so she has completed a card to allow me to take out membership on her card. The reverse of the card merely mentions taking a utility bill to prove ID, but, on the website, it mentions that each membership card carries a photo of the member to avoid said card being used by all and sundry.

I have emailed them asking if I have to bring a photo with me, but not had a response. Does anyone know if I need to take a photo when I take out membership and, if so, what sort of photo I need (e.g. size, just head and shoulders, colour/black & white, etc.)?

Many thanks.

Nemo is right - they do it there and then and put it straight onto your card then you keep the card for as long as you're a member. I've been a member since 2001

The photographs are hilarious (or at least they were when we joined!) My sister looks like Meatloaf and I look like John Lennon I lend my card to a good friend sometimes because the photo really could be anyone!

agree the photos are horrendous..pmsl so no I wouldnt bother galming up.

x posts Freckle - honestly please don't bother because it probably won't look like you on the card anyway

Unless their equipment has been upgraded, which is possible after 4 years

LOL! That's a relief then. Thanks for the replies.

I love COSTCO-they do handmade cakes for most occasions for a set price of £9.95-GREAT for kids Birthdays as masses left for you after!!! The chocolate cake with chocolate icing is to die for!

Most recent bargain I bought in there was a set of all occasion cards of really great quality for £4.45ish.Over 30 cards so you will never get stuck.

IMO you have to be very strong willed to make "Costco" and "economy drive" work.

I always go in for dishwasher tablets and come out with £200 of stuff I didn't know I needed.
