We have two dogs, 1 male aged about 8 and very cantankerous, 1 bitch aged about 2 and very needy. The male moved in with us because he was mistreated by our neighbour and the female is a rescue dog. Anyway to cut along story short, the neighbour found another dog and decided to keep it as her other poor dog had recently died , she didnt treat that one well either. Anyway she has now decided that she doesnt want the dog, i found the original owner and he doesnt really want it either, although at a push will take it back. It is about 2 and male and seemsto be nice natured.

Do you think he will fit in with our 2 exsisting dogs, they are resenrful of him at the moment particularly the male and are bullying him. My neighbour has given me till tomorrow morning to make a decision as shes going to give him back to the original owner, who to be honest doesnt sound great either. What shall I do, I really feel sorry for this dog but dont want to ruin my other dogs happy home.We had a terrible night last night with them all. Sorry this is so long.

ur two are ganging up on the new one? i'd say take the young one away for a minute. I find if our two meet a dog seperatly they're much better, the old dog will be less scared and less likely to react badly if he's not ganged up on - (just my thought althou i'm soft with dogs!)

the old 2 are ganging up on the new 1. It seems to have calmed down.they are all in different places now. Im just dreading tonight, on friday we had to have the two old ones sleep on the bed with us, dd was in there too!

Well, if they havent torn each other apart for now that is a good sign. Of course things will rumble on for ages, esp as your older male will want to keep charge. It's usual for the 2 established dogs to gang up too. If barry has any sense he'll cowtow for a while.

I'd feed him shut in the bathroom at dindins time, if I were you, or at least at the far end of the same room.

Well just to let you know the original owner turned up today as neighbour had phoned him after dog trashed her house. Barry??????? was pleased to see him. I feel awful but the man had a kind face. He is not being taken back to the building site, I hope this is true as he will runaway again. He will live outside but it is all he has ever known and I just have to accept differences on ideas of having a dog. The man didnt look hard or cruel, so I hope he has a good life. My two dogs are very happy that he has gone and I feel like Pontious Pilate.
