What Do You Regret?

if anything?

If you could have done something differently, would you have?

I'm 35 next month, and I'd be a liar if I said I regretted nothing.

I'd say I'd regret not having more partners in my life, got married at 19 ,1st, got divorced coz he was very violent, got married at 28 and have 2 beautful children (never a regret), he left coz he was having an affair - when Ds when 10 days old. Got together with DP as a fling, coz the longest realtionship he had ever had was 6 weeks, THREE years later we are still together,

REALLY wish I had lived a more adventorous youth

Somanykiddies · 26/01/2006 18:57

Splitting up with dp in early 80's and having to wait over 20 years to be with him again.

nikcola · 26/01/2006 18:57

not having more fun

VestibularProwess · 26/01/2006 18:57

OK ok I admit I regret not marrying a richer man.

alexsmum · 26/01/2006 18:59

not going interrailing or travelling when younger.
not working harder at school.
not working harder at uni.
not being more ambitious.

I regret not asking my parent more questions about their lives. My father is now dead, and my mum has dementia and hasn't known who I am for the last 3 years

regret not getting ADs sooner thus becoming a nicer mummy and wife sooner.

Earlybird · 26/01/2006 19:09

Spending too much time/emotional energy with the wrong men. Now, it seems all the good ones are taken!

skerriesmum · 26/01/2006 19:11

sometimes I wonder if I've wasted my talents and if I should have had a more focused career path...
but I still have lots of time for that once the kids are bigger, right??

MistressMiggins · 26/01/2006 19:12

regret not going to uni - BUT only cos I so want to be a teacher and cant face 4 years now with 2 under 4 and no husband

regret how I treated couple of boyfriends when I was young BUT I was young

otherwise everything is a learning experience good or bad

noddyholder · 26/01/2006 19:13

Nothing! If you learn from mistakes they are experiences not regrets(at least thats what I tell myself)

TheGhostInTheMachine · 26/01/2006 19:36

telling my bloody mother which county I was moving to five years ago... she followed me

me23 · 26/01/2006 19:47

I regret not spending enough time with/talking to my mum she died 04.
and all the times I shouted at her was rude etc.
I also regret leaving uni,(although having a newborn and going back to uni do not go together I couldn't even think let alone read and analyse something!) not being more focused on my goals.
I can always go back to uni though and make things better can't I?

Mascaraohara · 26/01/2006 19:50

Leaving my dp the first time round.

Radley · 26/01/2006 19:51

my only regret is not going to university.

Other than that, i have no other regrets, just a long list of things I wish i'd not done.
