DD really wants Lelli Kelly's for her 4th Birthday. This is probably because literally every girl at nursery. They are so expensive though, more expensive than clarks or startrite. They are also so bling, am not sure if i like them. But if it's for a birthday i would probably get them for her to wear as nursery shoes. Have any of you bought them for your DD's, do they support your children's feet, are they comfy etc?

My DD is also nearly 4 and I am looking at these for the same reason. They are covered in tiny beads and would be really difficult to clean - I would not send my DD to nursery in them as she comes home with paint splashes on her shoes etc.

At my dd's nursery they change into plimpsolls when they get into nursery, so she would only be wearing them to play outside in, so they wouldn't get paint splashes on. When my dd goes to ballet and all the children are changing, she goes round trying on all her friends lelli Kellys and says "look mummy these shoes fit me so well".

DD has had several pairs in the past. They are about the same price as many of the other shoes available in our local children's independent shoe shop. They are leather inners and the shoes/boots also on the outer. They are properly fitted at our shop. And the shop are quite particular in what they will sell you, if they aren't good wearing, well fitted and decent to wear they don't stock them.

Yes, they are very fancy with sparkly bits and sequins and the likes, but hey - if you can't have a bit of fun and sparkly as a little child, when can you?!

I didn't mind them and DD adored them.

They do come with a make up type gift - but is's a bit of play lip gloss mainly, nothing harmless imo.

They lasted really well. DD grew out of them, they didn't fall apart and I was able to clean them no problem. Infact DD's boots, pumps and sandals were all passed on and used by at least one other child if not two more.

So, to me they are fine.

Dd had had a couple of pairs and they have some good and some bad points.
They are actually not bad shoes in terms if them not seemingly particularly flimsy compared to other canvas type shoes but personally I think they are utter rubbish.
First time dd had them they went back to the shop 3 times because first pair one shoe almost entirely moulted every single bead by the time we got home in the car. The next 2 pairs bits of the rubber decoration and hundreds of beads fell off first wear. Now don't get me wrong I fully expect beads to fall off them but at that price I expect them to last longer than a day.

The next pair she got was only last year and really best not mention them. They totally utterly fell apart in a matter of a couple of weeks. Now beating in mind that dd is at school all day in school shoes and wasn't allowed to wear them on het bike and was also wearing them in conjunction with sandals. They were shocking the sole was coming away from the canvas. I did email lelli kelli who were very helpful though.

They are actually easy cleaned in a pillowcase in the washing machine though
If I had another dd would I buy them again. Probably despite my bad luck because as another poster said if you can't wear shoes coveted in fairy vomit at 4 when can you. I would be very careful about when and where they wear them though do I get more than 2 or 3 weeks out of them.

Thanks for the comments, i think i will get them for DD's birthday, you right if you can't have sparkly shoes when you four when can you. I guess i better embrace this stage but i suppose it will be soon over. I will have a look in the shops this week, and look at them, would prefer a floral pattern not keen on the animals one i saw in onesmallstep last week. Do you get the mary Jane style or the trainer style.

Personally I dont like the style of them BUT they're not for us to wear are they Smile I bought my god daughter some when she was about 5 ...... Oh my lord she was SO SO happy with them Smile

I know I will be buying them for my DD in s few tears time Hmm to lots of little girls they are amazingly, brilliantly, fantastically, the best shoes in the world ever Grin

DD wore hers all the time out of school. She has to wear proper school shoes for school and back then they didn't have the school shoes style. But we never had the problem of them losing beads all the time or falling to bits.

I bought DD2 some for her birthday when she was about 6, she was so happy with them and wore them all the time out of school. They lasted fine, we chose the Mary Jane style because at the time the trainers were just metallic pink or gold and I thought they looked bleugh! (Don't know what they are like now, DD2 is nearly 9 and past that stage, DD3 is 4 and hasn't heard what they are yet!)
