Who find that children's clothes come up too small? Are you always having to size up?

My DD is 4 and is the same height and size as the rest of the girls in her class. Yet when i buy her clothes i end up having to buy the 5-6 or sometimes bigger simply to ensure it will last her more than a month. This usually means you out of the little girls sizes so you end up having to pay more, or but clothes that look to grown up. Only company where sizing seems accurate the majority of the time is mini Boden. Do any of you find that children's clothes come up small?

My boys are much older (10 and 9) but until recently, when DS1 has had a huge growth spurt, I've always found Boden sizes too big. Gap are also on the large size. Sainburys (TU), on the other hand, are always too short. have just bought DS2 (average height, stocky build) a pair of age 9-10 Boden cargo pants and they swamp him!

My DS is tiny, he's 10 and usually wears age 6 or 7 clothes. He has a couple of mini Biden pyjamas and they are age 8, so by that logic, no, Boden does not come up big. It is more accurately sized for my DS, but he's not accurately sized for his ageGrin

I find Boden and Gap too small.

My ds has been in his age most of his life but now at 12 he wears 13/14 stuff. Dd is tall and thin so very little fits off the peg, I need to adjust things.

Must depend on the child surely.
DS (3.5) - Next about right on top, trousers too big for his age v label age. Boden, comes up small. Tu about right. H&M come up small on top, but skinny enough for him. An H&M age 4-6 top fits him perfectly. He is 91st centile height, 75th weight. John Lewis - comes up small. Gap - small, Asda - big.

DD (4 months) - Next OK, John Lewis small, H&M also a bit on the small side, Gap - Tiny, tiny, tiny.

I got DNephew a Gap hoody for Christmas. He's just 11 and not remarkably big or small. It was age 12-13 and tiny on him, like he'd grown out of it several year ago.

You always upside children's clothes if at all possible because they grow.

A lot of girls stuff seems to assume all girls are slightly smaller than average anyway.

DD2 lives on the 50% line and I can usually get away with a size bigger.

DD1 was a bit plump and a nightmare from 8 to 12, when she shot up and developed.
Overnight she became a standard ladies 12, bliss for choice, but bad for the wallet.

Its the other way round for me. My son is 2 and wears 9-12 month bottoms but that size doesn't fit him on top. He need 12-18 upwards depending where they are from. He's just small
