And how she couldn't hear the tv, I said sorry, but she needs to remember that on a friday night when she is blasting music till 2am and fighting with her other half till 4am!!! And keeping us awake!! I know that dogs winging is annoyimng, but we don't go out together much because of the jack russell (as he hates us going out) and we are trying to get him rehomed. We only went to a hospital appointment with dd2. She said that the dogs has been howling for 4 hours, but we weren't even out that long....

LoveMyGirls · 25/01/2006 13:16

oliveoil · 25/01/2006 13:17

hmmmmmm, a dog howling for 4 mins can seem like 4 hours though

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/01/2006 13:20

I hate dogs barking incessantly, personally.

If your neighbours are such pitas you should go out more often............

jessthecat · 25/01/2006 13:20

have to say, having lived next to dog from hell for a while that it is incredibly annoying!

at her complaining when she makes loads of noise too though

gomez · 25/01/2006 13:21

Nowt worse than a yapping dog to be honest.

You will be away soon thou' so rise above it.

sparklymieow · 25/01/2006 13:22

within a week of them moving in, they woke us all up screaming and throwing objects, slamming doors at 2am-4am!!! They scared the life out of my kids....

Feistybird · 25/01/2006 13:23

could you leave the dog in the kitchen?

QE2 · 25/01/2006 13:23

People have different levels of tolerance to different things don't they?

Another vote here though for finding yappy dogs incessantly barking really frustrating and annoying.

sparklymieow · 25/01/2006 13:24

he still winges, I know that he winges and that is why we are trying to rehouse him. He is a PITA!!

I think the RSPCA offer a dog re-homing service.

sparklymieow · 25/01/2006 15:38

we are on the waiting list for the Blue cross and the RSCPA is closed today. I know that its because the jack rusell starts the other one starts, the other day we hadn't even gone out the door, when the jack started to howl!! I have had enough of him now. Just took the staffie for a walk before I picked up the kids, left the JRT with DH as I couldn't deal with both, and when I put him in the car afterwards, I thought he might winge or something, but he was quiet, so I know he can handle being left alone...

My neighbours breed dogs, & we never used to hear a peep. However, since they got a terrier & kept another young dog, we get a fair amount of barking, which we accept as we too have a dog.

What annoys me is that whenever MY dog goes out, theirs start barking at him & he barks back, and they NEVER shout out or bring their dogs in. It is always me calling ours in - which is awful when DH is away & dog not getting the usual exercise.

Whenever their dogs are outside barking I'm convinced that the other neighbours will think it's ours

I hope you find a good home for your dog soon! It's horrid having conflict with neighbours.

trix1 · 25/01/2006 15:47

We used to live next door to a dog that used to yap every time they went out, it nearly drove us mad. In the end we moved.

sparklymieow · 25/01/2006 16:09

funny thing is, they have a JRT themselves and he barks when they are out...

Our neighbours have 2 shi-tzus which bark at absolutely everything. We have a large Scottish Border Collie which only seems to bark at the postman. However, we have 3 very loud children so I think we're quits!

I would never dream of complaining about noise from next door unless it was persistent and inconsiderate. Our neighbours, bless them, say they love hearing the sound of children (must be selective because there are times when the noise my 3 make cannot under any circumstances be termed pleasant to hear).

Odd that your dog whines when you have another dog in the house. Have you looked to see if you have a Jack Russell Rescue Centre anywhere near? There are often people looking for a specific breed so would check there rather than the RSPCA.

sparklymieow · 25/01/2006 18:11

It was today and yesterday for a total of a 2 1/2 hours each day. We rarely go out together as I said, because we know he winges and barks.

if we are going on short journeys we take the dog with us and leave he inthe car - she prefers that to being left at home. she snuggles down and has a nap as she knows we will be back. could you do that?

sparklymieow · 25/01/2006 18:27

no, because he winges when we leave him in the car.... and if I did that, someone would report me to the RSPCA because he would be making so much noise. We can't even leave him out a shop on his lead because he winges..

We have frequent "escapes" of rabbits and guinea pigs. At least we didn't have to leg it round the garden for several hours trying to catch the little b*gger. The rabbit, not your dd!

millie34 · 25/01/2006 19:22

hate dogs that bark. we had to move from our last house for this reason. i was also sick to death of stepping in dogs crap evey day, it was on the pavement outside our house .
dog owners are very inconsderate.

Feistybird · 25/01/2006 19:26

Millie - some dog owners are irresponsible.

millie34 · 25/01/2006 19:33

i would say MOST

ceylonlou · 25/01/2006 19:42

i hate it when dog owners dont clear up after their animals. in fact it really pisses me off, nothing worse than tredding in dog pooh! sounds like i hate dogs but i dont, i own an english mastiff-14 stones worth! it's just some owners are bloody lazy, i bet they wouldn't leave crap in their own garden!
