Question for everyone who doesn't wipe skirting boards ...

No there isn't. They are a bit grubby, but frankly I don't care. I would rather have a bath than mess about with skirting boards. when they get too yukky I will just paint them.

No. I think dust probably just doesn't settle on skirting boards. If it does, I haven't noticed.

Mine are grubby except where they go behind beds or radiators and then they are DISGUSTING. But what do I do? I need Anthea to help me turn into a domestic goddess.

I cleaned my skirting boards on Friday (I'm having a sudden and out-of-character housework frenzy) and yes, there was fur on them - only about half an inch though!

Apart from the bit under the radiators ... the fur was about 2" thick there ...

It does settle on them (behind furniture etc) but not to that bad a degree.

Nope theres not. I do them about every 6 months. Out house is about 80 years old so plenty of dust to settle if it needed to.

I just htink if I did them all the time what a waste of time it would be that i could be doing other stuff. The house is clean and tidy though - don't go thinking we live in a tip!

Have lived in our house for 5 years never clean or painted a skirting board - had a quick look in the room I'm in and they look quite shiney won't get too close or might catch something!

Does it matter if they get dusty?

Mine get minging but we have no carpets, I think that makes things worse. The skirtings that are wood it doesn't really show but the ones that are painted white look horrible after just a few weeks.
