no

Lucycat · 24/01/2006 13:45

I just swoosh the hoover over them with the nozzley bit!

colditz · 24/01/2006 13:46

No there isn't. They are a bit grubby, but frankly I don't care. I would rather have a bath than mess about with skirting boards. when they get too yukky I will just paint them.

MrsSpoon · 24/01/2006 13:46

Swooshing nozzle about is cheating.

cathyspam · 24/01/2006 13:47

not quite an inch but there is a layer of yuck!

Aloha · 24/01/2006 13:47

God, I don't know. I don't look at skirting boards!

MrsSpoon · 24/01/2006 13:48

Go and have a look Aloha!

No. I think dust probably just doesn't settle on skirting boards. If it does, I haven't noticed.

Bozza · 24/01/2006 13:49

I waft them with the feather duster.

satine · 24/01/2006 13:49

Mine are grubby except where they go behind beds or radiators and then they are DISGUSTING. But what do I do? I need Anthea to help me turn into a domestic goddess.

WigWamBam · 24/01/2006 13:49

I cleaned my skirting boards on Friday (I'm having a sudden and out-of-character housework frenzy) and yes, there was fur on them - only about half an inch though!

Apart from the bit under the radiators ... the fur was about 2" thick there ...

Bozza · 24/01/2006 13:49

It does settle on them (behind furniture etc) but not to that bad a degree.

sharklet · 24/01/2006 13:55

Nope theres not. I do them about every 6 months. Out house is about 80 years old so plenty of dust to settle if it needed to.

I just htink if I did them all the time what a waste of time it would be that i could be doing other stuff. The house is clean and tidy though - don't go thinking we live in a tip!

Lucycat · 24/01/2006 13:57

so am I not allowed to swoosh my nozzle at them? It is in the privacy of my owm home

MrsBadger · 25/01/2006 10:16

[raises hand in solidarity]
I am a nozzle-swoosher too!

MrsSpoon · 25/01/2006 16:43

LOL @ the nozzle swooshers!

Have lived in our house for 5 years never clean or painted a skirting board - had a quick look in the room I'm in and they look quite shiney won't get too close or might catch something!

Does it matter if they get dusty?

MrsSpoon · 25/01/2006 16:55

Mine get minging but we have no carpets, I think that makes things worse. The skirtings that are wood it doesn't really show but the ones that are painted white look horrible after just a few weeks.

Hoover attachments with brushes on aer designed to do skirting boards.

Isn't that what a cleaner is for??

Feistybird · 25/01/2006 17:10

dunno, moreover, don't care!

MrsSpoon · 25/01/2006 17:10

Nah, I'm through with cleaners. More trouble than they are worth.
