I want to send some Galeries Lafayettes gift vouchers to a cousin who is living in France. I have gone on to the website and speak French fine so can cope but have "deux petites questions":
What is the difference between a "cheque cadeaux" and a "carte cadeaux"? I can see that one is a piece of paper and the other a bit of plastic, but do they have different functions and when would you send one rather than the other?
Also, when filling in my details, the first box is "Nom de l'adresse", followed by my name(s) then my address - what is the "nom de l'adresse"?

Thanks a lot!

perchance nom de l'adressé ? IYSWIM ie. recipient's address.

l'être addressé, comme l'être aimée (Barthes, Fragments...). This is a semi-guess. Verify with an authentically slimy-skinned frog. I am only a demi-grenouille.

No, I thought that too, but there was no accent, and the first time this form appeared it was solely for my details. I entered "abc" to see if the next page could enlighten me at all, and then got the entire set of details (nom de l'adresse, nom, prenom, adresse etc) in duplicate, with the option to change the second set for "livraison".
And the "carte cadeaux" is not for attaching the "cheque cadeaux" to - they show a picture of both. One a paper voucher, the other like a credit card - I suspect that one can add or subtract with this, but I wonder if, in my present situation, I would be more prudent doing one or the other?
Thanks for trying girls, I'll keep bumping cos I'm sure someone knows!!

these are the two products

and

I've worked out "nom de l'adresse"!!!!
Just went back in and it's now saying "choix de l'adresse" (as I am now a registered customer) so it is obviously so I can write "home" or "holiday house" or "Mum" or "office" for easy choice of delivery.

Now about the "cheques"/"cartes"...[grin}

Hi PennyLess! Having seen both the cheque and carte cadeaux, I don't think there is any difference apart from the different amounts you can get them for (ie more choice on the cheque). It looks like they can both be used in the same way, it depends how much you want to spend I guess. HTH
lucky friend!!!

LOL, just figured out 'nom' when I read your post... yeah, it's just like the English 'Please choose a name for this address', as you say.
