TMI WARNING! Coil Question

expatinscotland · 23/01/2006 12:49

K, I've been cleared to use the coil for contraception. Am going to family planning clinic on Thursday.

From other threads I've read on here, however, some users' partners have been able to feel this coil.

I was gonna change my name, but what the f*ck, this is MNet.

for those whose partners felt the coil in there, did it make a difference if your man was . . . well endowed?

B/c that's an issue for us

Have you tried searching the conception and health threads? I'm sure I've read somewhere that it can cause problems...?

Will you ask at the clinic? I'm sure they'd be able to advise.

P.S. Happy Burn's Night for Wednesday! I shall have a blast on my pipes and drums CD in your honour!

you can't actually feel the coil, just the threads - Which for some reason are like fishing wire and have pointy ends [ouch!] You'll have to test drive it first to see if they're a problem!!

expatinscotland · 23/01/2006 13:02

burns night?

haven't heard of a real scotsperson who actually celebrated that .

It's not a problem, you can tuck the ends behind your cervix and he won't be able to feel them. They get softer after a little while too, just make sure they aren't hanging down as they are a little sharp at first. DH has no complaints.

I had an ex who was well endowed and he reckoned he could feel my coil sometimes but it didn't seem to hurt him or anything.

sharklet · 23/01/2006 14:41

I think feeling it isn't so uncommon. Dh reckoned he could feel mine sometimes although I don't know if he could or just thought he could.

I could only stand it for a few months - the coil made my periods about 50 times worse than they had been before so for my health and sanity I had to have it removed.

Good luck with it.

I have no wish to comment on aspects of my man's anatomy... but yes he could feel the wires initially, we had the wires trimmed, still could feel but not irritating to him after that. I hated the coil for other reasons, though, the wires were irritating to my cervix, for instance.
