Title says it all really.

Ive been feeling a bit broody lately, on and off. I feel alot less broody when the kids are awake!

Anyhow,

I decided in my infinate wisdom to tell dh that its ok to have unprotected say on the last day and day after of your period. He didnt even question it, just thought yay! so we did...

I dont know what came over me! I am sure I have read somewhere that you cant get pregnant but now im not so sure.

Can you tell im broody and taking silly risks??? Im not worried about getting pregnant, I just wanted to know if its possible as I am thinking of using the rythum contraception as I cant take the pill and dh doesnt like condoms and that way we are still using a form of protection (although its not the most affective in the world!) so dh would still be happy although deep down he would know the risk. I think he would like a baby but wont admit it and this way he would be able to blame me!

Yes. You can even get PG during your period. When you get your period doesn't necessarily have a bearing on when you ovulate!

Thanks Tamba (phew)

Have been in and read dh the riot act. If it says you can get pg on MN then you can!!!!
I have ordered him to go to gp next week and get the snip

According to natural family planning once you have ovulated you are safe, BUT only if you are sure you know you HAVE ovulated - by temping / persona machine so you are probably ok BEFORE your period but AFTER can be dangerous as the sperm can hang about if the conditions are right to catch the egg at a later date.
Does this make sense?
A persona machine or a trip to the natrual family planning nurses to teach you NFP could help, allowing you to have unprotectd sex for part of your cycle
