Very boring washing question, sorry!

Sorry, so boring but ds has a fairly new top and it's accidentally been washed with a sticker on it (it was an entrance sticker to somewhere I think). Although the sticker isn't there any more, there's a load of sticky, sticker shaped residue on the top - is there any way of getting it off or should I just chuck the top? It's been washed about 3 times so far so clearly the machine alone isn't going to get it out. TIA and sorry for the tedium of the subject!

Get sticky stuff remover form lakeland - fantastic for chewing gum too

its here

Ahem, the top was only 5 pence more than the remover so I think I'll chuck it and only buy the sticky stuff remover if the same happens to his Dior clothes...(joking, he hasn't got Dior clothes but ykwim) Thanks coddy.

sb34 sniffs it all day I reckon, does soupy have any?

www - before you chuck the top out, try using either nail polish remover or white spirit. It will work but may ruin the top. Shouldn't do if its a fairly normal fabric though.

Or try lighter fuel - the petrol kind - I have used it and it doesn't leave a stain. And it comes with a neat little nozzle so its easy to aim. It also works on chewing gum.

Or try Johnson's baby wipes - too strong for poo, but very good at getting label residue off nearly new sale toys and clothes.

Try wrapping sellotape round your hand (sticky side out, obviously!) and pressing it on the sticky patch to see if it lifts off the goo.

agree with Coddy and sb34. Sticky Stuff Remover from Lakeland is brilliant. Removed a wad of chewing gum from the bottom of my boot this very week !!
