Was looking at this yesterday. I want us to start going out more together but w rarely have much money and so I though the National Trust membership might be good.

Not entirly sure how much us we would get out of it though, does anyone else use it ??

Good point Enid
And as Philippat implied, there is a wealth of wonderful and unique conservation techniques and know-how being supported by the National Trust - gardens, textiles, furnishings and social history. They must be a big employer of craftsmen and women in a lot of locations.

Stonehenge is run jointly by EH and NT, Janh, and if you belong to either organistion you get in free.

I must admit, I was a bit disappointed by Stonehenge because I'm sure it used to be bigger!!! Maybe the stones are sinking or maybe the fencing and pathways and audio guides and parties of disinterested American school children and the ice cream vans take away some of the mystery. And you can't hug the stones now.

I joined the Scottish NT and got 3 months free to so it looks like a good deal if they are still doing that. NTS website doesn't mention 3 months free, perhaps it was just an offer if you joined at a property.

The NTS actually maintain the coastline along the front of our local place and I love it there, my kids think one of the beaches is ours and our family just get NTS to look after it .
