Btw I seriously wouldn't take parenting advice from Robert Winston - he tried to persuade me not to report serious wrongdoing at his hospital trust because it was one of his mates who was the consultant in charge.

Is anyone else surprised at the answer to the first question? I'm feeling a bit responsible now!!! Dh is looking worried...

Frizbetheexpansionset · 14/01/2006 17:28

5 out of 6, I'm shocked, thought I'd get worse than that....pity people hold looks in such high regard....

MrsMiggins · 14/01/2006 19:42

I got number 5 wrong too

Beansprout - Im not surprised and actually think its the best answer - look on it more as you as the mother can have the most influence on your child - if you're interested & help they will do well
I dont think its quite the fact a mother has had a good ed - more they want to help & are able to help their children

6 out of 6

(if only looking after teenagers was quite so straightforward)

Apparently the greatest aid to a child acquiring a good education is parental involvement, over and above a good school, etc. So, if a child spends most of its time with its mother, clearly if that mother is well educated and shows an interest in her child's education, it will do much better.

Although dh is interested in and helps out with the boys' education, he has far less time and opportunity than I. So my influence on the boys is likely to be greater.

5 out of 6, also got Q5 wrong.

i think it's hogwash

Nightynight · 15/01/2006 16:24

So do I.

If your child is one of the few who is intolerant to junk food (as I was), that is going to be the biggest wrecker of their school life.

Meanoldmummy · 15/01/2006 16:25

Robert Winston is a prat.

Piffle · 15/01/2006 16:30

5 out of 6 as well....
Thakn god I can claim ALL the credit then for DS brains
