Shall I let my childminder take my three children to Butlins for a long weekend [shock]?

Dh and I want to go away for a long weekend in September to celebrate my 40th. My trusted mother's help has offered to look after my three children (6, 3.5 and 5 months) for the weekend. She wants to take them to Butlins . Now apart from the fact the idea of Butlins fills me with horror, do you think that is a mad idea? I told her I thought it would be too much but she said 'You should see the amount of children I have taken before!' She has five children of her own (grown up except youngest who will be nearly 12 and going with them - she is lovely and the dds adore her). She seems totally at ease with it. What do you think?

I know

don't I could get really soppy about her if I let myself

she was my cleaner and offered to look after the dds when I wanted to go back to work two years ago. She is so kind like a granny to them which is great as my own mum doesn't get involved at all with the dds. I have a MIL close but J just incorporates them into her life which is great - trips to parks and soft play places, she takes them to the supermarket with her etc etc. I was glad when dd2 went to nursery as she relies heavily on the telly when at home but she does all my ironing and washing too

she is a true gift.

no not yet - four huge boys aged from 24-18, they all still live at home and she gets up at 6am every morning to cook them all breakfast before work . Then her dd - she went for a hysterectomy and when she woke up they said we didn't do it, you are pg - that was her dd, very sweet and doing very well at secondary school.
