Most of the wedding mags have a good countdow to the big day list which give a good overview of what needs to be done and when.

When's the big day?

OOh you've got loads of time. Now you've got your date and venue sorted you can sit back and enjoy being a fiancee for a while. Next thing I did after venue etc was get my dress - started looking 8 months before my wedding day.

How exciting for you - it sounds lovely.

PS - you're a week before my wedding anniversary!

Are you having a legal wedding as well? I had a humanist ceremony but also got legally hitched at Chelsea Register Office.
Dress is important.
Food
photographs
Invitations etc

What is important to YOU though? What kind of wedding do you envisage. For me and dh, the most important part of our wedding planning was sitting in the bath in a nice hotel drinking a bottle of champagne and talking about how we envisaged the ideal day - what we wanted (lots of food and drink) and what we didn't (receiving lines and speeches).

Since 18th of June 2005 Humanist weddings in Scotland are legal and binding! The registrar confirms signiatures and witnessess three weeks prior and the Humanist performing the ceremony is as the Registrar at the wedding then we simply wait for the marriage certificate to come in. We choose what is said and by who , the only legal part is the signing at the wedding and the part where he says do you take her/him! At last we can have the wedding that we feel comfortable with, is it not the same in England?
