Is there anyone else out there who just cant shift the baby fat.
Iv still got that extra stone to lose but just cannot exercise. Do any of you use a gym with a creche?
At the moment Iam 9stone and height is 5.5. But in days before dd I was under 8stone and went the gym 4 x a week Booohooo.
Ideas or advice please.

Sorry to read your message. When my daughter was born I couldn't wait to go to a gym any gym inorder for me to shift my 'baby fat'.

I found that most of the gyms in my area offer a creche facility at reasonable rates too. I opted for the afternoon membership as that was cheaper and also meant that the classes were not over subscribed.

If you are serious about loosing your stone, give yourself a reasonable time scale - not Christmas as it is too soon. Also ensure that the rates offered for the creche is reasonable as you will only benefit from your gym if you go at least 3 times per week. My gym creche is something like £2.50 for 2hours which means I can go to a class and still have time to shower, relax, have a coffee before having to go and collect Nia (my daughter).

I am now a size 12/14 were as before I was a size 16 and although I can not only put it down to my exercise classes alone (there was the benefit of breastfeeding and health eating now and during my pregnancy).

If you are unable to get to the gym as often as I mentioned don't be discouraged. Go walking, push that buggy. Excerise is important but having a health diet is also. Not just salads or slim fast drinks etc. Healthly. Good luck

I was doing really well, now have started to put some weight back on, which Im not very happy with. I have started having peanut butter on toast for breakfast and have snack cravings recently with chocolate, and I dont normally eat that much chocolate. I will have to start to get back on track, but with trying for No2 I sort of think why worry right now.

Thanks Lizzer I will definitly post over on the postnatal thread later tonight.
I think though that the extra stone has stuck around because since dd 18mths ago I have undergone a total lifestyle change.
Wheras before i was very fit going to the gym very toned perfect nails facials ect ect. I was basically a lady who lunched. I was also busy most evenings .
Now it is a different story. I have tried my old gym creche but dd is VERY clingy and screamed so much they came to find me after 10 mins. I did persevere but in the end decided i couldnt put her through it. That was a year ago,now Im thinking of trying again but she is still sooo clingy I dont know if it will work. Im also so tired from running round after her that I find myself rewarding myself with food. KWIM.

Ill be out shopping with dd and buy a large bar of choc thinging mmmmmm Ill have that later whendd is in bed. Dh works away mon to fri so its just me and the fridge from 7pm. Ahhh.

I know if I could just start exercising again it might promt me to eat more healthly. Id be happy to lose 8lbs but it seems so hard!

Let this be a lesson to you! Still 'fat' at only 18 months after? My eldest is 16 YEARS old and I'm still having weight problems - DIET NOW!!!

Alih · 08/11/2001 01:29

2 yrs on and still feeling like a slob!

I am only about 4lbs heavier now than before dd, but putting on 4 stone in pregnancy (gross odema and thyroid problems), and then having an undiagnosed non-existant thyroid function for 5 mths afterwards have contributed to me still having a 5mth pregnant waistline.

So no, you are not alone. Oh, and this is with gym and keep fit over the same time period!

LOL Kia, I will be having nightmares now by the time ds is 16 I wont be able to move, diet starts very soon.
