Ideas for a 6 year old birthday party

DD has decided she wants to invite her class friends around to the house for her birthday this year. We usually rent a Wacky Warehouse but as we frequent these almost every other weekend she has decided she doesn't want a party there.

Anyone ideas for party games etc as have never even thought about entertaining 15 boisterous children in my home before and the idea of it scares me and would prefer it to be as stress free as poss. DD has said she wants a disco, any idea where we can get some cheap disco lights?

we have it sorted now as December birthday - dd1 was 6 in December and we do trip to the panto followed by tea, cake and running around at home.

Thats what we planned to do but DD wanted to take two of her friends with her plus DS, DP and I and it just worked out too expensive. We are always a bit broke after Xmas and so luckily for us she is quite happy to have a party at home, which by the end of it will probably cost us just as much anyway.

do you have a big house? i'm only asking because that is such a lot of children to have at your house, where are they going to eat? my dd had a house party this year it was a night mare two hours ,they were all very excited it was so noisey and they all seemed to be every where she only had 9 friends and that was too many. you will have to plan every last minute so they are occupide because the minute there not they will be running riot. pass the parcel put loads of layers so it will last a while, musical statues you can make that last too.you can get disco lights in woolworths. good luck!!!

it cost £90 to take them to the panto (there were 6 of them plus dh, dd2 and myself)

but tbh it was easy, we bought them a wavy thing at the show (in lieu of party bags) and then they had cocktail sausages and chips and a homemade cake back at home so probably cost £100 all in.

We have just wrote the invites and there is 18 trouble is if I whittle them down and then say 6 don't turn up DD will be upset. Not sure what to do now as it will be just my luck they will all turn up. Last year we invited 18 to the wacky and only 10 turned up and that was at a wacky warehouse.
