playmobil
Lego Knights (just about OK age-wise)
sticker books (nice ones from Usborne, Apple Tree Farm, on offer in The Book People)
Orchard Toys games, eg Ladybirds is very good.
All those under £10.

MT, they are fab. It's a thing to stamp on which launches a light foamy sort of rocket really surprisingly high in the air. Then you go and get it from wherever it flew, and do it again.

I've just asked in our local Entertainer about Stomp Rockets and they dont stock them, nor does our Woolworths.

Boring maybe but my dd got pjs from a little boy at her last party. She loved them and they were from Asda so probably wouldn't break the bank.

DD1 has her birthday at the end of Feb and I always think the toys are still new from Christmas then.
