Busy Buses DVD - has beeen on every day - we're on the 2nd viewing this morning already! It only cost £5, so value for money as well!

fisiltoe · 03/01/2006 10:09

ds1 jigsaw puzzles.
ds2 the ability to pull himself up on things. Oh, and anything he hits that makes a noise.

ds1 (6) loves the Bionicle from my brother, what a big hit, he has hardly put it down sinc e we put it together
dd (4) adores her cot for Pink Teddy, also her work book (!) to practise letetrs etc from Santa
ds2 (2.5) is mad about his Playmobil pirate ship. That's my fave thing too (DH found it for a tenner in July what a star)

cathyspam · 03/01/2006 10:34

DS1 aged 2 loves his new umbrella! That is what he was asking for! DS2 likes anything that belongs to his big brother!

rockinrobinkie · 03/01/2006 10:39

dd(5)'s Rainbow Fairy books - have been read cover to cover over and over (already) and show no signs of palling.

ds(6)'s Aquila mag - gets taken out and pored over daily. And there'll be another each month!

I mention these because they are both things I would have had no idea about EXCEPT BECAUSE OF MUMSNET (gratitudinous shouting acceptable here) - THANK YOU

edodgy · 03/01/2006 10:42

cathyspammy dd who's 2.5 also got an umbrella in the shape of a frog she loves it and even puts it up in the house not exactly ideal with a five week old ds as well!

roisin · 03/01/2006 11:07

Binkie - what about the marble thingie?

The one we got (not the suspension one) has been enjoyed more by the big boys than ds1 and ds2!

hercules · 03/01/2006 11:08

marble maze thing.Loved by all.

acnebride · 03/01/2006 11:22

for me, digital radio. fabbo.

for ds (nearly 2) Ladybird version of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. the troll is so scary for him it is a whiteknuckle ride.

Pudmog · 03/01/2006 11:51

dd1- super badge it
dd2- cella sticker maker-they have both made some lovely things.
ds1 (15 months) the loudest most hideous pull along dog you ever did see that my dad bought as a joke for being the loudest toy he could find!!!!

crunchie · 03/01/2006 11:58

For dd2 (4) her cd player and Shane CD (also a princess story one from asda)
For dd1 (6) her bratz rock angel I think

For me the fake sheepskin gilet that I exchanged for a cool sheepskin coat!! V unpractical cream full length fake sheepskin in the sales (the gilet made me look fat and a bit like an uncooled sausage it was dusky pink!)

For dh I have not a clue, hopefully the theatre tickets I bought him!!

MrsBadger · 03/01/2006 12:04

biggest success was Magnetix...

for DH!
(he feels left out if he doesn't get a toy)

Helen38 · 03/01/2006 13:05

Mouse trap game, they love it have played loads and magnitix dh likes that too!

collision · 03/01/2006 13:09

DS1 (3.9) loves his ELC easel and paints and his Playmobil baby dinosaur.

DS2 (13months) loves his Little People Village and ELC castle

DH loves his mini racing cars

I love my hair straighteners!!!!!

rockinrobinkie · 03/01/2006 15:15

roisin, he says he loves the Skyrail, and he jumped out of bed the first few days to go and gaze at and fiddle with it; but the engineering of the elevator bit is not perfect (not what I'd expect from Quercetti which is usually so good) - it sticks and has to be prodded along - and I think because of that (and until dh, engineer manque supreme, has time to solve the problem) it seems to be on the back burner. Either that, or Aquila is just so good it can't be competed with!

Our other "thing" (as opposed to book) successes were: a bargain Argos watch for ds and "a pretend kitten in a pretend basket" for dd - the latter again sourced via MN guidance.
