If you don't want your mum to find out, theres no reason for her to.

Your sisters GP and the Family Planning will keep it confidential if she has the MAP.

Could she stay with you at all.

I'm just thinking, what if it makes her feel sick and throws up.

Don't want to worry you but it could happen and if it does at least you'll know and probably be able to do something about it IYSWIM.

The MAP can be taken up to 72 hours after the event, is it too late?

She can definitely get 'normal' contraception without your mum knowing - and 100 times better that than the alternative. Perhaps I am old-fashioned, but I would try and talk to her at some point about whether she really wants to be having sex at her age. You can't stop her, obviously, but a gentle chat can't hurt?

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 30/12/2005 21:26

If too late for the MAP, coils can be used as a method of emergency contraception for longer (I think a week).

starlover · 30/12/2005 21:28

agree with tribpot... hae a chat with her... does she really want to be having sex at her age???

also, going on the pill is all well and good, but won't protect her against std's

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 30/12/2005 21:28

Sorry, did not mean to post, also wanted to add....

If you can take her to a FPC or her GP to get info and possibly BCP or contraceptive injection. However worth drumming home that these methods will not precent her from getting STIs or the other risks or becoming sexually active so young

they were both virgins so dont need to worry about that this time. i have spoke to her plenty of times about it but in the end it was her choice. she said it wasnt ment to happen it just did. it was on boxing day so too late for map. im gonna make sure she goes on the pill if she gonna do it again. she is very mature for her age but that doesnt change that she is still 14. i tried to tell her i waited till i was 17 but i regret it. she is very strong willed i just want to try and make sure she doesnt end up in trouble
