just wondered what everyone else is planning?

We are having our own party (nail biting emoticon!) as we have 2 kids too and its easier!

Lots of family and friends coming over!

I think as long as we have lots of alcohol and food it should go ok!

nothing. DH and I will be on the sofa with wine and champagne vowing to lose some weight in the coming year, as usual. Neither of us are remotely excited/bothered by New Year.

fairydust · 30/12/2005 12:25

going out into the town really looking forward to it as we don't get out much

Working. Two day shifts, hoping to get home by about 10pm, when DP is supposed to be cooking us a meal. Usually home an hour earlier, but lovely TFL are striking meaning that I will have to get two buses and a train. Dp won't be able to drink as we're going to have to get DS up early in the morning and drive me in to work again for 7.30. All in all not a lot of fun really.

Nothing

Probably watching rubbish telly, eating to many choccies and then falling asleep before midnight as I do every year!

Sleighmenere · 30/12/2005 12:31

Not much dp and I are both on antibiotics as we both have chest infections( dp's is of course much worse ). So it will be a nice dinner and maybe a glass of fizz at midnight.

They are awful hours floss! What do you do?

We have Aero and dh and some other frinds and their son over (he and my dd are in love!) for a 5 course meal to run late into the night.

i dont feel too bad now then, just in my family new year is always such a big deal last year about 30 of us went and stayed in a hotel dd1 stayed in my mums hotel room so me n dp could be alone in our room with a jacuzzi - hence the reason dd2 has arrived lol.
this year feels like a lifetime away from that, dp has told me today that his parents would have had the kids if we had asked - why has he only just told me this grrrr and he's moaning about how crap its going to be, we could go out at last minute but it wouldnt be fair on my friend who has a 2 yr old and is single so would then be left on her own which would be awful for her i know from the days when i was a single mother. especially at such short notice.

Nursing. Was planning to do a night on the 2nd, too, voluntarily, but they've just asked DP to do a day for double time instead, so day off for me then!!

mumfor1sttime · 30/12/2005 13:03

Me and Dh will be sitting in with choccies and bottle of plonk, watching a dvd or telly.
We dont have anyone to babysit anyway!
