Just wondering what the concensus was about wearing trainers to school...

My ds and dd both have nice school shoes for school. They both also have trainers for home and other shoes.
Both ask regularly if they can wear trainers as their friends do.
I think it looks awful and also think it's kind of disrespectful of the parents to send the children in trainers if the school uniform is black shoes. Lets face it you can get a pair of black leather school shoes from Asda for a tenner so I don't think there's any excuse!

My ds will be 8 on the 15th Jan. Where did those yrs go?

She says sneakily "I have the narnia dvd here". So will watch tomorrow!

I will be buying the DVD as soon as it comes out, sm - it really is excellent. And they are going to make all of them. Apparently Disney was looking for a Harry Potter type 'franchise'.

Ds wear trainers, but properly fitted ones, so Clarks.

SLD/PMLD/complex difficulties/challenging behaviours school Blossomhill! Think that covers it. No uniform as such, non-compulsory different coloured t-shirt and sweatshirt for each day of the week (my favourites being blue on Tuesdays and purple on Fridays- purple party day). They can wear any trousers. They go to a lot of parks, the shops etc and a lot of the time in school is spent being very active as well so I just get comfortable shoes. I never have much choice in styles as my friend's sister who manages a clarks shop very kindly brings a few pairs to our house to try on and buy. We don't do shoe shops (well we can but it takes 3 people to manage it now, which is frankly ludicrous)
