Dst turn 4 tomorrow and looking back at videos of them it is weird to see how suddenly they have gone from little round arms and legs and toddling walks to, well, little boys. Dh built their wooden castle tonight and we've positioned the Playmobil people inside, more for dh to have fun than setting it up for them!

Maybe it is normal to feel this or maybe I am just feeling sorry for myself for having a broken finger and needing my wedding ring sawn off!

Time for another, perhaps??

bubble99 · 28/12/2005 23:51

My DS1 has turned 8 and I totally understand how you feel.

SackAche · 28/12/2005 23:52

2ifbysea - TOTALLY normal!! Don't worry about it, its awful when your baby isn't a baby anymore..... even when you have another baby!! Your 1st is alwayd your baby though.

Oh yes I would love another but I've got hyperthyroidism so want to knock that on the head before having another and time is ticking!

I'd love another two actually four is a nice round number!

Time is ticking here, too. It's bloomin' loud, that clock!

SackAche · 29/12/2005 00:01

Too true, Toothy. 35 seems to be seen as a guaranteed conception cut-off point.

TreeFuses. How was your Christmas. Any A&E visits?

SackAche · 29/12/2005 00:12

Oh their not even thinking 35... they're thinking 40+.

bubble99 · 29/12/2005 00:12

And now I'm really hoping I've got the right person.

Damn these Christmas names!

Ah! The great IVF myth. It doesn't always do what it says on the tin.

Misspiggy · 29/12/2005 00:18

Wait til they get to 15 and tower over you! I met DS1 at the shopping centre last week and as he walked towards me it hit me that he is now (practically) a man. I still get the occasional cuddle though but...time flies...

bubble99 · 29/12/2005 00:24

Noooooo! Don't say 15. My 8 year old gave me the 'I don't believe in Father Christmas' speech this year.

I know he needs to grow up, but can he do it just a little more slowly?

Trefusis. I am still chuckling at the description of your 'night out'

Misspiggy · 29/12/2005 00:42

It's just not the same when they don't believe anymore is it? DS2 is 9 and this was the first year we didn't put out sherry and a mince pie for Santa - I was distraught! Just how sad am I?!

bubble99 · 29/12/2005 00:53

Misspiggy. I am sensible enough to have planned ahead and so also have a 10 month old DS3 to keep me going in the mince pies for Santa department, for the next few years.

Misspiggy · 29/12/2005 01:00

Awww, that's not fair! Wonder if I can persuade DH?

TwoIfBySea · 29/12/2005 21:32

Lol Bubble at your all grown up 8 year old!

Well, if some people think 40ish is okay to start a family that gives me a 6 year window at least before I'm joining them! Women in my family are notorious for having babies in their late 30s, early 40s. I shall hold out hope.

Can you hear my biological clock, its TICKING LIKE THIS!

Dst had a great birthday and told me today that now they are a big 4 and not little babies anymore! Waaaahhh!
